Simulating the Cold Atmospheric Plasma Therapy

This is the first project that I am personally leading in the Micropropulsion and Nanotechnology Laboratory, with fellow undergraduate Caitlin Carroll. The project seeks to create a hybrid continuum-discrete model that can simulate the effects of Cold Atmospheric Plasma Therapy on a cancerous hemi-spheroid attached to multiple layers of healthy epithelial cells. The model will evaluate the cell death and growth of both cancerous and healthy cells, to determine a critical "biologic plasma dose", in which the cancer can be eliminated while retaining the maxmimum amount of healthy epithelial cells.
