Mechanism of Action for Cold Atmospheric Plasma Therapy

Each member of the biological division of the Micropropulsion and Nanotechnology Laboratory is focused on discoveirng the mechanism of action for cold atmospheric plasma therapy, and how we can better it as a treatment. This includes studying the characteristics of the plasma jet itself, understanding the role of plasma-medium interaction, observing the role of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species in the cells and creating biologically-accurate plasma simulations to understand critical-dosage effects.
