Gen Med 1

You will see a variety of common and some unusual pediatric illnesses. The serivce is a combination of general pediatrics and infectious diseases. Patients with genetic, metabolic and rheumatologic and endocrine problems are cared for by this service. Most patients are under 12 years of age. Patients maybe on the medical care unit ( 3 Orange or 3 Yellow) or the Heart Kidney or Surgical care units (3 Green).

Rounds begin at 8 am in the 3 Yellow Conference Room on the third floor. You should arrive early enough (by at least 7:30) am to contact your senior resident, round on your patients and pick up new patients if needed. To page your senior resident from inside the hospital dial 6600 and then the beeper number. From outside the hospital dial 259- and the beeper number.Work rounds follow radiology rounds in the 3 Yellow Confernece Room.

Attending Rounds are Monday, Wednseday and Friday at 11 am in the 3 Yellow Conference Room unless otherwise directed.
