Interferometric Droplet Imaging
Above: Instrumental setup for interferometric droplet imaging. Note that the field of view is a rectangle (8.4 mm × 6.4 mm) placed at 7 mm downstream the load coil at the center of the plasma.
Right: Surviving droplet pairs in a typical double exposure (Δt = 45 µs) out-of-focus image. Scattering from the torch edge is captured on the right side of the image.

The d-DIHEN is operated at 0.2 L/min gas flow and 85µL/min solvent flow.

Aerosol Simulations
Computer simulation results showing the fate of aerosol produced by a DIHEN in an argon ICP at 1500 W.

Direct Injection Nebulization:
Interfacing the DIHEN with an ICPMS torch.

HPLC-DIHEN-ICPMS interface.

Schematic of the typical setup used for micro FIA or micro HPLC experiments. The enlarged portion shows the connections required to minimize the dead volume of the DIHEN.
