Prof. Akbar Montaser will be visiting and lecturing at several major universities, federal labs, and ICP manufacturing companies in Japan for three weeks, such as: Tokyo Institute of Technology, Keio University , Shimadzu, Standard Reference Center Foundation (HECTEF), and Agilent Technologies.


September, 2006

Ryan Brennan was presented with the Society for Applied Spectroscopy Student Poster Award for “Interferometric Droplet Imaging for In-situ Aerosol Characterization in an Inductively Coupled Plasma” at the 33rd Annual Conference of the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies (FACSS) in Lake Buena Vista , FL. Ryan was also awarded with a FACSS Graduate Student Travel Scholarship.

Kaveh Jorabchi receives the Chorafas Prize, an international prize for exceptional achievements in research. This is the sixth award that Jorabchi has received for his research in Prof. Montaser's group. The Swiss based Chorafas Foundation awards are devoted to doctoral students who are under 30 at the time of application and conduct outstanding work in selected fields of engineering, computer science, medicine, and the natural sciences. Congratulations to Kaveh!
