The 1950s was a decade of conservative values. Women were expected to be glamorous, without a hair out of place even in the home.
The 50's ideal consisted of the doe eye: shadow on the lids, eye brow pencil, mascara, heavy eyeliner, pale complexion,
and intensely colored lips. The Cleopatra look became fashionable in the late fifties with alluring Egyptian makeup continuing into the early
60s in the style of Egyptian Queen Nefertiti.
