Linda Botkin Biography

 

Linda Botkin, has 25+ years of professional experience as an Information Technology and Print Publishing Professional. Since 1998 she has been employed as an IT Publishing Systems Manager at The Washington Post. Current responsibilities include the management of system integration, interfaces and 24X7 application support for publishing systems and workflows for The Washington Post print products.

 

Prior to 1998, Linda was employed by Gannett Offset as Manager of Desktop Publishing.  While employed at Gannett Offset, between 1991 and 1998, responsibilities included the development, maintenance and support of the desktop publishing environment for the production of commercial print products. Before joining Gannett Offset, she was employed by Army Times Publishing Company in various technical and non-technical roles in the printing and publishing field.

 

Linda is a native Virginian and grew up in the Shenandoah Valley before relocating to Northern Virginia. She enjoys horseback riding, golf, snow skiing, relaxing at the beach and travel.

Technical Projects:

2009- 2010 – Member of the Content Management System (CMS) Project team. Project Coordinator and Manager for the integration of downstream advertising, news and production systems and interfaces and workflows. The CMS project merged print and on-line processes onto one system platform.

 

2004 – 2007 SAP System Implementation Project. Project Coordinator and Manager

 

 

1998 – 2000 – Y2K System Readiness.

 

 

1998-2000 – Member of the CCI Pagination Project team. The CCI Pagination project converted the manual page layout and paste up processes to fully computerized, digital processes. Project Coordinator and Manager for CCI Publishing System Development and deployment.

 

 

1991 – 1993 – Designed and implemented a Desktop Publishing Systems Department to enable Commercial Printing Clients to deliver their publications in full digital format via remote connectivity or portable disk.
