Big Software for SmallSats: Adapting cFS to CubeSat Missions

Alan Cudmore, Gary Crum, Salman Sheikh, James Marshall

Small Satellite Conference, August 2015 Attach:cFS_SmallSat.pdf

Being fairly new to cFS I was probably the least qualified to give this presentation, but I had decided to submit an abstract and did the work behind the evaluation part. Alan did the work porting cFS to FreeRTOS, Gary has been working with cFS for years, and Salman is software lead for the Dellingr mission.

The time slot was twenty minutes long, and I had about 3 minutes at the end for questions. The presentation itself went well, although I fumbled some of the questions. I should have been more prepared to speak to the heritage, verification and testing of cFS.

GW-SSL

Fall 2013 Attach:seL4.pdf This presentation went over fairly well. It was about 10 minutes too short for the given time (intended to fill a 1 hour lunch meeting, so about 45 minutes plus questions and noms). This 10 minutes would have been well spent digging into the meat of the paper presented: SysPapers#Blackham12ImprovingInterrupt. Unfortunately in preparation I spent too much time trying to tackle the supporting and previous works, and ended up pressed for time and unable to present the main thrust of the paper well. See seL4.
