What needs to be said beyond "it is‑‑once again‑‑'THE Boston.'"

It was wonderful‑‑‑as good as it gets!

The day of Patriot's Day (Apr‑B‑4) was the kind of "no excuses" sort, and the activities of the weekend around the AMAA meeting and the gathering of very good friends were superb! (Apr‑B‑3)

So much so, in fact, that I have confirmed my participation in a number of forthcoming runs, which you may see listed in the registrations I had made following the Cherry Blossom Race (Apr‑B‑2)

I will be doing the May 7 Defender's Ten Miler in DC the morning of my return from India.  I am doing the 25K USATF championship River Bank Run in Michigan on May 12 (Apr‑B‑6),  then the Steamboat Springs Marathon in Colorado June 3, and the Big Horn Ultra which starts at 10,200 feet in Dayton WY on June 16.

This Friday I leave for Dharamsala, India, and in July, following the summer long runs, including the Wyoming Ultra of 54.3 miles, I leave for Ladakh.  Before the fall runs, I will have returned to the Himalayas, to the Spiti Valley in Himachal in September and the Everest Trek in Nepal in October.

The fall is already booked, nearly weekly, with marathons: Oct. 13, Hartford (Apr‑B‑8), Oct. 20 the inaugural Baltimore (Apr‑B‑9), The contested Marine Corps Marathon's 26th running Oct. 28 (Apr‑B‑7), and my chance to visit the new TWIN grandsons in San Antonio with the 27th running of the San Antonio Marathon Nov. 11 (Apr‑B‑10), and the second running of my Montgomery County neighborhood Marathon in the Parks November 18 (Apr‑B‑11)

If you think that is only I who am now caught up in the "Long Run", check out the interesting report on the state of marathoning (Apr‑B‑12) with a world‑wide number of Finishers just now cracking one half million  runners, with a 15% world wide global increase, with a 2% per year increase in the masters level finishers.

But, the statistics are not as inspiring as the supporters each runner finds along the course‑‑can you believe the Women of Wellesley?‑‑and, perhaps, much more, the runners at your elbow on the course!

But, the event is a celebration of life, health, and my "running mates," and I will be back to enjoy them again in Boston ‑‑106.

Spring is here, now!

Cheers!
