The background of this web page is the regimental color of the 6th Michigan Cavalry, which belonged to BG George Armstrong Custer's 'Wolverine Brigade.'
Pvt. Walter Rowe of the 6th Michigan Cavalry was wounded in action at Hunterstown, Pennsylvania, during the Gettysburg Campaign.  Perhaps he was a distant cousin.
