I am a native of Brazil and I have a strong interest in poverty alleviation in general and microfinance in particular. My past experience in this area includes grassroots work in Guatemala at INEPAS in 2007, research on electoral issues at the Center on Voting and Democracy in 2006, and pro bono legal assistance in Brazil. In 2007, I became a Research Fellow at the Council on Hemispheric Affairs, where I published on both Brazilian and Guatemalan affairs. Since March 2008, I have been interning with FINCA International's public sector team, and this summer I will be working as a Client Assessment Fellow in Mozambique and Brazil.
In May I finished my Masters in International Affairs at The George Washington University, with a concentration in International Development and a sub-field of economic development policy. I also hold a JD equivalent degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, a BA in Philosophy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and a graduate certificate in Diplomacy from the Candido Mendes University, all in Brazil.
