On Music

Description of Theme:

What are the sounds that come to mind when one thinks of nature? Some may imagine the various sounds of blusterous winds flowing through the air, or the thunderous crash of rapid waterfalls. But probably the most familiar thing that comes to mind is the variety of sounds that come from living beings.  Animal sounds have captivated the attention of their human counterparts for ages. What an average person might take for random noise might actually sound like a harmonious concert in the ears of a composer, or might serve as the everyday speech for certain species. This show will explore the various sounds produced by animals in ecological, biological and musical contexts.
