Qing Pan, Ph.D

Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at George Washington University. I joined the department in September 2007, after completing my Ph.D. under the direction of Dr. Douglas Schaubel at the Biostatistics Department, University of Michigan. During my Ph.D study, I worked as a graduate student research assistant at the Kidney Epidemiology and Costs Center in Ann Arbor, working with Dr. Richard Hirth in the Prospective Payment System project for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Currently, I work on the Diabetes Prevention Program Outcome Study at the Biostatistics Center of GWU contracted with National Institute of Health.

My papers in survival analysis won 2008 Canadian Journal of Statistics Best Paper Award from the Canadian Statistical Association, as well as travel awards from the Statistics in Epidemiology Section of  the American Statistical Association in 2006, also from the Health Policy Statistics Section in 2007, and ENAR distinguished student paper award in 2008. Locating in DC, I am also interested in statistical methods in legal applications.
