Twisted Alexander polynomials of 2-bridge knots

We develop a method to compute the twisted Alexander polynomial associated to dihedral representations of 2-bridge
knots. For several innite classes of 2-bridge knots we use this method to verify a conjecture of Hirisawa and Murasugi
on the form of the resulting polynomial.
