RESOURCE GUIDE TO MUSEUMS

INTRODUCTION

This resource guide was created as a project for L597 - Information Networking, a course taught in the School of Library and Information Science at Indiana University Bloomington Campus. This guide is best viewed in Netscape , although it can be used with other browsers.

This resource guide was designed to be a place where K-12 students can explore museums on the internet. But anyone interested in museums can use this guide to get a flavor for what is available. The resource guide is not intended to be a guide to all museums on the internet because there are far too many existing museum sites and new museum sites every day.

Because of the large number of museums, they have been separated into two sections. One contains museums in the United States and the second contains museums outside the United States. Within each section museums are separated into art, science, and history museums. Additionally, there is a category for miscellaneous museums (and psuedo museums) that I couldn't resist including.

Finally, a word of warning. Many of these sites are graphic intensive and may require longer to load than sites that contain only a few graphics. I hope you have fun exploring museums on the internet!
