Notes:
- IMPORTANT: Senior Design class sometimes runs late, especially during weeks when major presentations are being made. Because of this, on these weeks, I often will have to begin office hours a bit later, but will eventually be there and stay later. In such cases, I'll leave word with the technicians across the hall. If you email me ahead (always a good idea), I'll let you know if this is a possibility.
1. My office hours are almost always on a first-come, first-served basis. If there are no students are waiting, especially towards the end of my office hours period, I may go to a different room on the 3rd floor of Tompkins or over to my office on K-Street.
2. If you have a conflict, and absolutely can not come during my posted office hours, please email me at manuccia@gwu.edu, and we will set up a specific appointment time.
3. Each semester, there typically is a 2 week period during which many advisees need to see me to approve their advising forms for course selection. During these periods, I typically will increase my office hours to two days per week and post the information on this page.
4. Schedules for faculty office hours are also posted on the ECE department website, and on the SEAS website. These pages are typically updated only once or twice per semester and often contain out-of-date information. Always come to this page, or look on my office door for moment-to-moment changes / information. If you call the department for information on office hours, always confirm they have the most up-to-date information.
5. Please use email (manuccia@gwu.edu) to contact me, not telephone.
If you are coming to see me to have your advising form approved, before we meet, please prepare and bring a course plan, ie, a printed copy of the curriculum sheet for your class with the "Date" column completely filled in, e.g.,:
http://ece.seas.gwu.edu/currentstudent/undergrad/Biomedical Engineering 2009_2010.pdf In the "Date" column, in green or black ink, you should enter the semester and year (e.g., "Fall 2010") for courses you have already completed, and the semester and year for courses you intend to take in red. This way, you have a course plan that will be complete all the way out to when you are scheduled to graduate. If the anticipated semester in which you will be taking a course changes, it will be obvious that you have to take it at some other time. Then, as you complete each course, you can just check it off on the table or convert it to green. This may sound laborious, but I have found that this is, by far, the best way to ensure that you don't encounter any unpleasant "surprises" in required coursework just before you are ready to graduate. Having this table with you at each advising meeting also makes these meetings go much faster, so I require them of my advisees. It is critically important to have this table filled out and up to date if you are, or are anticipating taking any courses out of sequence, taking some off campus, etc. This page was last updated

2. However, if you have a conflict, and absolutely can not come during my posted office hours, please email me at manuccia@gwu.edu, and we will set up a specific appointment time.
3. Each semester, there typically is a one or two week period during which many advisees need to see me to sign their advising forms for course selection. During these periods, I typically will increase my office hours to two or three days per week and post the information on this page.
4. If there is any question about my office hours (e.g., is this page up to date?), my most recent office hours schedule will always be posted on my office door.
5. Schedules for faculty office hours are also posted on the ECE department website, and on the SEAS website. These pages are typically updated only once or twice per semester and may contain out-of-date information.
