Most of the decade both men and women wore their hair long and simple.
The Farrah Faucett look with loose falling curls, bronzed skin and glossy lips became the
sensation of 1976. The Olympic star Dorothy Hamil initiated the short wedge look. Disco beauty
consisted of blue shimmery eyes. The "cat tail" was a style of eye liner in which the ends pointed
up. Accesories also made the look: hoop earrings were the rage. Toward the end of the decade the beginning of punk carries in spiked hair,
bright colors, and facial piercing.
