John M. Artz is an Associate Professor of
Information Systems
in the
School of Business at the
George Washington University
in Washington, D.C. He teaches courses in Relational Databases,
Data Warehousing, Virtual Worlds, and Philosophy of Science
for Business and Management Research. His research interests are
currently in Virtual Worlds, Social Interaction Technologies and the
emerging role of Video Games in Business and Education. In addition to
being an expert in a wide variety of technologies from programming to
database design Dr. Artz has published nearly fifty scholarly articles
and over one hundred book and article reviews.
Dr. Artz built
Cosmos Academy in
Second Life to explore the
potential of virtual worlds for
education and business applications.
Dr. Artz is also a volunteer for
the
C & O Canal Bike Patrol
