Sensor Based Music Controller

Description:
A laptop orchestra is bunch of performers who use raw data from sensors and hardware input such as acceleromter, keyboard and trackpad on laptops to generate music. Performers will have to hold a 5 to 6lbs laptop for hours which is very inconvenient.
Sensor Based Music Controller for Kalamazoo Laptop Orchestra is a portable device that has most of the sensors and functions for performers. In my senior design team, I was in charge of coding the software and the graphic design. I used C and objective-C to build up an application on iOS devices such as the iPhone, iTouch, and iPad to simulate the functions of the music controller, allowing users to rotate, shake, press the virtual buttons, and use virtual slide bars to play music. The application also included a chat function. I used Bonjour network protocol to build up a server and set up the connections among iOS devices. Additionally, Photoshop and 3DMAX were used to create and edit all the pictures and elements in the application.
