package!
Dear Glenn,
I wish you a very happy and prosperous new year.
What you are doing in this world is truly
amazing. One hundred years from
now, they will say that there was a man who truly made
a difference in the
lives of many on a global basis. I, and no doubt, many others, envy you.
You are a great guy Glenn, in so many ways.
I am glad that
you received my book and I will appreciate your feedback.
Early in Sept. I went to New Orleans after Katrina and
two weeks later, went
to the Yucatan, Mexico, after Emily. Shortly after that, Nov. 11, I went to
Yemen. I
inspected a hospital and a medical school.
Both new, modern and
beautiful. Of
course, I also had a wonderful visit with my family. The
whole month was simply delightful.
My book was published by the Dorrance Publishing Co,
in Pittsburgh, a
subsidy publishing.
They receive 60% of the sale price, and I get 40%.
It is very difficult to get the usual commercial
publishers to take
non‑fiction books or unknown authors, unless of
course they contain much
sex, violence or both.
Two years ago, I attended a writers conference in
Columbus, Ohio. Someone
did research on book acceptance by commercial
publishers and found that of
those accepted, 85% contain sex, violence or both! This probably does not
apply to authors with notoriety and fame.
My book was well received in Yemen, and it is being
translated into Arabic.
I have received the first 16 pages, and they look good.
Glen, I hope that someday, our paths will cross again. I will love to see
you.
Meanwhile, stay well, continue to do the good work and
be happy and keep in
touch.
Rashid
