THE PLANS FOR INCORPORATION THE RWANDAN
Yes!
Let's work out the details of transport, timing and accommodations with Pastor Jupa, our local coordinator on the site. This incorpaoration
intot he Millennium Village schema would make an
extra resource available for both the
RAP (Rapid Assessment and Planning) as well as the longer-term sustainability
of the project, which is near the center of each of our interests in
establishing this Rwanda link.
I will forward this note to Pastor Jupa and supporters here, as well as the burgeoning number
of people who are now eagerly signing up for the Rwanda trip, even ahead of its
public announcement of the availability and timing!
Cheers!

Dr. Geelhoed, hope you are well and enjoying your
holiday.
Last week I went to
his staff regarding a potential collaboration between
Physicians for Peace,
the Earth Institute and the UN Millennium Project.
In essence, we are exploring the potential of
working with their Millennium
Village Research initiative. This
initiative is currently in about twelve
villages across sub-Saharan

scientific effort
aimed at identifying the best ways to implement the UN

will help to link the lessons from the villages to the
national planning
processes, and vice versa.
The healthcare piece of the initiative is focused
mostly on maternal and
child mortality and infectious diseases, principally
malaria. Countries of

Dr. Geelhoed, I received this email this morning
inviting you and your team
to visit this
We would have a PFP "agenda", i.e., asking
you to assess for us the long
term medical education and training potential there for PFP.

Dr. Sconyers,
I am an medical/health
intern with the Millennium Villages Project in
and
would love to meet with Dr. Geelhoed and his team when
they come to
Our village is located in Nyamata
District not too far from
district hospital, as is the case throughout
from
supplemental training for physicians and nurses. If you think the PFP team
will have time to come out to Nyamata
this trip, I can arrange plans with
the
Nyamata District medical director and district hospital
head physician.
