Yes, please! As widely distributed as possible might be my own
hope for such a book, and, yes, I would agree with both the down-loading of
the pdf file and the cross-listing on PFP, InterAction, and any other
listings you would like.
I will "CC" Landes BioScience to request theri permission to make
it available as well.
When you next contact Muhammed Akhter, relay my regards. We had
interactions at the time of his being on the DC Heatlh Board and the APHA,
and now thta he has moved to InterAction, my protegee Paul Antony had met
with him in the last week to ask for further ways in which we could collaborate!
Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality!

BTW--I have sent you a subsequent email, but the province
of India in which I had worked for
several weeks, the former independent Hindu Kingdom of Sikkim is the name i
could not remember at the Freemason Abbey, with the capital at Gangtok, which
for some reason I could remember, while blocking the Sikkim name!

I think I cc'd you on an email I sent out to all our volunteers with a link
to your powerful book. Thanks for making it available to us.
I'm trying to figure out a way to make this more accessible to our
volunteers. Although a brilliant work, I'm fearful it will be
difficult to
get people, particularly surgeons, to read 400+ pages on a computer screen.
I'm wondering if it would be permissible for us to reprint the book as a PDF
file and make it available from our webpage. With appropriate credits and
copyright restrictions. We could then list each chapter and our
volunteers
could download the "specialty" of choice as a PDF file. Just
trying to make
it user friendly. Would the publisher allow us to do so? At
this point in
time, I'm not 100% sure how we would do this, but don't want to squander
this opportunity.
Also, I'd like to send an electronic copy to Dr. Akhter at InterAction to
see if he would like to make it available to his membership. In fact,
being
a little selfish, perhaps I'd ask him to refer everyone to the PFP web site
to download it.
Any thoughts or suggestions you have would be appreciated.
