MY CORRESPONDENCE WITH DON GRAHAM,
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF THE WASHINGTON POST
Dear Don:
I appreciated your real
interest as we met at the NFID Awards Dinner.
As an Africanist, perhaps I am afflicted with the Rhett Butler
romanticism of dedication to causes already lost!
I had promised you a
follow-up on the human face of African AIDS and commiserated joy from my recent
return from Malawi, and that is contained in one series of rough chapters I
attach herewith.
If interested to follow this
up further, I have a Home Page at http://gwu.edu/~gwg
and also wrote a book on my experiences in the Congo, another of the
continental "garden spots," entitled "Out of Assa:
Heart of the Congo." (www.3hawks.com)
I have left my contact points on the attached signature page.
I appreciate your interest
in reaching out to these voiceless fellow travelers in the darkening continent
as they struggle in anonymity with a very complex human condition.
Thanks!
Glenn W. Geelhoed
