PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES

Assistant Professor at The George Washington University - Teach and conduct research in sport and event management and marketing, the Olympic Movement, sport business, corporate health promotion. Serve as faculty coordinator for internships. Faculty advisor for the Forum for Sport and Event Management and Marketing.

Marketing Consultant for Star Management, Inc. - Work with athlete representatives, event organizers, facility managers, and corporate sponsors to conduct market research, write sponsorship and endorsement proposals, coordinate sponsorship promotions, and establish cooperative relationships on behalf of clients seeking sport marketing and advertising exposure.

Field Coordinator for the National Children and Youth Fitness Study II (NCYFS II) - Recruited, trained, and supervised five field testers. Gathered, organized, and evaluated numerical and written data on the fitness and behavioral characteristics of 4,500 children ages 6-9 throughout United States.

Independent Researcher - Conceived, marketed, and executed an international research study on the Olympic Movement and Sports Administration. Traveled to 55 countries in 5 continents. Interviewed and videotaped over 500 sport administrators, coaches, athletes, and professors of physical education. Attended and videotaped a variety of major sport competitions and professional congresses.

Event Manager for sport, entertainment, and fund-raising events - Create, promote, and organize events; responsible for securing sponsors, facilities, insurance, security, advertising, and promotions.

OLYMPIC INVOLVEMENT

1995 - Olympic marketing consultant for Mattel, Inc.

1994 - Lead a study tour to the Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway. Arranged all travel, housing, guest speaker, and venue tour logistics for 20 students.
- Participated in an international Olympic research study.
- Delegate at the International Olympic Committee Centennial Congress, Paris, France.

1993 - Coordinated and directed a study tour to the World University Games in Buffalo, NY.
- Attended the IOC Session in Monaco as an invited guest.

1992 - Organized an International Event Planning and Marketing Course in Spain for the World Exposition and Summer Olympic Games.
- Conducted a market research study at the Winter Olympic Games in Albertville, France

1991 United States Olympic Committee State Fund raiser for New Mexico.

1990 Attended the IOC Session in Tokyo, Japan as a guest of President Samaranch.

1988 Guest at Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada and official observer/evaluator during Summer Games in Seoul, Korea.
- Accompanied Olympic flame from Greece to Korea.
- Mingled with and interviewed participants, spectators, administrators, and volunteers.
- Wrote evaluation reports for the Organizing Committee.

1985-87 Delegate to United States Olympic Academies.

1986 Invited lecturer at the Chinese-Taipei Olympic Academy in Taiwan.

1984 Attended the Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia; program staff assistant at Olympic Scientific Congress in Eugene, Oregon; tour guide for Olympic officials during Summer Games in Los Angeles, California.

1983 Intern in the Exercise Physiology Lab at the Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs. Tested strength, flexibility, endurance, and percent body fat of elite athletes. Responded to public inquiries and coordinated lab schedules.
