Research Interest

My research interest includes the fundamentals and applications of soft-ionization mass spectrometry to solve biological problems. I am currently interested in infrared-laser based ambient soft-ionization techniques, such as Laser ablation electrospray ionization (LAESI)and atmospheric pressure (AP) infrared (IR) matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry, to perform direct and rapid in situ analysis of metabolites and lipids in tissue.
