Research Interest

My research interest includes the fundamentals and applications of soft-ionization mass spectrometry to solve biological problems. I am currently interested in infrared-laser based ambient soft-ionization techniques such as atmospheric pressure (AP) infrared (IR) matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry to perform direct and rapid in situ analysis of biomolecules, such as metabolites and lipids, present in tissue. Other areas of my interest include broader aspects of mass spectrometric and related techniques such 2D gel electrophoresis, HPLC, GC, ion mobility spectrometry, etc.
