I am an Associate Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Political Science at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. I was previously an Assistant Professor at Stony Brook University. My research and teaching interests center on American politics, judicial politics, and political methodology. In particular, I examine judicial decision making, the Supreme Court, inter-branch interactions, judicial appointment politics; public opinion, political behavior, and institutional evaluation; and legislative politics. I also have interests in various topics related to political methodology. My work has appeared in American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Public Opinion Quarterly, American Politics Research, Electoral Studies, Political Research Quarterly, and other outlets. I have also been a guest contributor for the legal blog, Concurring Opinions.

I teach undergraduate courses in judicial politics, methodology, and constitutional law, and graduate courses in judicial politics and political methodology.
