Anu Phene is Grub
Distinguished Scholar and Professor of International Business at the School of
Business at George Washington University. Before joining GW, she was an
associate professor of strategy at the University of Utah. She received her
Ph.D. in international management from the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior
to that, she worked for American Express Bank in the treasury department.
Her research focuses on knowledge
creation and transfer, geographic boundaries of knowledge, multinational firm
and subsidiary evolution and governance mechanisms. She has authored
publications in Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization
Science, Journal of International Business Studies, Strategic Management
Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Management and Management
International Review. She was named David Eccles Faculty Fellow at the University of Utah from
2006-2008. She received the 2014 Trachtenberg Teaching Award at George
Washington University, the 2010 GW School of Business Teaching Excellence Award
and the 2006 Brady Superior Teaching Award at the University of Utah.
