The conference will start at 1.30 PM on Friday, December 7th at the MPA building Room 310.

Plenary speakers include: Qi Chen, Mikhail Khovanov, Mark Kidwell, Slava Krushkal, Dragomir Saric,

Adam Sikora, Dan Silver, Susan Williams and Irmgard Buehler (distinguished student talk).

Talk on Saturday will take plase at the Duques Building, Room 254. The first talk by Mark Kidwell will be devoted to Seifert's work.

10:30 - 11:10 Mark Kidwell (USNA, Annapolis)
The historical significance of Herbert Seifert's paper 'Ueber das Geschlecht von Knoten' .

Slava Krushkal (U Virginia) will open Saturday's afternoon session with the talk 'Chromatic algebra and applications'.

'The Teichmüller distance between finite index subgroups of PSL2(Z)' by Dragomir Saric (CUNY, Queens College) will be the first talk on Sunday at 10.30 at Rome Hall Room 459.
